Thanksgiving and Blessings on Christmas Eve | “Peace Apples” & “Birthday Party”

December 24th is Christmas Eve in the West; however, for us Chinese, this day carries an even deeper and more special significance—it is The anniversary of the Chinese People’s Volunteers’ great victory in the Battle of Chosin Reservoir.

Seventy-four years ago today, on the icy and snow-covered Korean battlefield, Volunteer Army soldiers were engaged in an extraordinarily arduous and grueling battle.

The frigid weather at Chosin Reservoir, with temperatures plunging to minus 30 or 40 degrees Celsius, was enough to freeze all life; yet the Chinese People’s Volunteer Army soldiers, clad in thin cotton uniforms and enduring both bitter cold and starvation, fought to the death against a well-equipped U.S. force.

In that battle, countless volunteer soldiers fearlessly laid down their lives, using their own flesh and blood to withstand the enemy’s guns and artillery, safeguarding the nation’s borders and securing lasting peace and tranquility for us.

It is precisely because of the heroic struggles and tremendous sacrifices of our martyrs that we are able to enjoy peace and joy on this Christmas Eve.

Therefore, on this special occasion, the company has decided to distribute apples, Let us reflect on the hard-won peace brought by the Chinese People’s Volunteers, and extend our sincerest wishes to each and every one of you.

The “ping” in “Apple” is a homophone for the “ping” in “peace,” which holds cultural significance in China. It symbolizes peace, health, and family reunion.

We hope that through these small apples, everyone can not only savor the festive spirit but also remember history, express gratitude for the sacrifices of our forebears, and cherish the peace we enjoy today.
