Today, China Media Group officially unveiled the official mascot for the 2025 Spring Festival Gala: “Si Shengsheng”!

As 2025 draws near, the mascot of China Media Group’s “2025 Spring Festival Gala,” “Si Shengsheng,” has made a playful debut, bringing abundant New Year blessings to Chinese communities around the world.

The design of “Si Sheng Sheng” draws its inspiration from the rich heritage of traditional Chinese culture. Its overall form ingeniously echoes the character “巳” as found in oracle bone script, blending gentle roundness and endearing charm with an understated, time-honored elegance.

Its head profile and the spiral motif on its cheeks are inspired by a gilt‑silver ruyi scepter unearthed from the Tang‑dynasty underground palace at Famen Temple in Fufeng, Shaanxi.

From the bat motif adorning the head to the long knot with the character for “longevity” at the tail, every detail is imbued with the auspicious wish: “Blessings begin at the head and follow all the way to a life of fulfillment.”

The brows and eyes of “Si Sheng Sheng” are inspired by the bifurcated feather motifs and the “chen”‑shaped eyes found on the bronze serpent‑shaped artifacts unearthed at the Sanxingdui site in Guanghan, Sichuan. Meanwhile, the intricately enameled back‑side scroll‑like patterns, crafted using the cloisonné technique, spread like a vine of life, symbolizing “endless vitality.” And the hawthorn, magnolia, peach blossoms, and peonies outlined with filigree inlay seem to burst into full bloom, heralding the joyful news of “spring returning to the land.”

In its color palette, “Si Sheng Sheng” is anchored by a dominant teal hue, seamlessly blending traditional Chinese shades—parrot green, jade green, peacock blue, lapis lazuli, lotus white, tangerine yellow, and dragon‑gloss candle red—to paint a vibrant, spring‑filled tableau that lets viewers savor the fresh vitality of the Year of the Snake.

Such an adorable and culturally rich “Si Sheng Sheng” is simply irresistible!
